Privacy Policy
BrainTease IQ is a free trivia app. This policy explains what information is processed, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Process
- Account information: name, email address, unique account identifier, email-verification status, and authentication records.
- Game data: score history, streak, XP, level, and achievements stored locally on your device.
- Advertising data: device information, IP address, diagnostics, ad interactions, and device identifiers where permitted.
We do not request access to your contacts, photos, or precise location.
2. How We Use Information
- To create, authenticate, verify, and manage your account.
- To maintain game progress and achievements on your device.
- To display and measure non-personalized advertising.
- To maintain app security and diagnose technical problems.
3. Data Storage
Account authentication is provided by Google Firebase Authentication. Firebase stores your email address, display name, unique account identifier, email-verification status, and authentication records on Google's systems. Passwords are handled by Firebase and are not visible to us.
Game progress is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes local game data, but does not by itself delete your Firebase account.
4. Advertising and Consent
BrainTease IQ uses Google AdMob to display non-personalized advertisements. Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform asks for your privacy choices before the app requests ads.
- On iOS, App Tracking Transparency controls whether the IDFA may be used.
- Ad requests are configured as non-personalized, regardless of your ATT choice.
- You can limit tracking through your device privacy settings.
5. Account Deletion
Open Profile > Delete Account inside the app. Deleting your account removes your Firebase Authentication account, including its email, display name, and account identifier. Local game data is also removed from your device. This action cannot be undone.
6. Children's Privacy
BrainTease IQ is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so that we can delete it.
7. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase Authentication: account creation, sign-in, email verification, and account deletion.
- Google AdMob: advertising and ad measurement.
- Open Trivia Database: supplementary trivia questions; no account information is shared.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Delete your account and associated authentication data from inside the app.
- Control tracking permission and device advertising settings.
- Contact us to ask about your personal information or request assistance.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
