Privacy Policy

BrainTease IQ is a free trivia quiz app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information needed to operate the app:
	•	Account information — your name and email address when you create an account.
	•	Game data — your score history, streak, XP, level, and achievements. This data is stored locally on your device.
	•	Device identifiers — collected by our advertising partner (Google AdMob) to serve ads. See Section 4.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any sensitive personal data.
2. How We Use Your Information
	•	To create and manage your in-app account.
	•	To track your quiz progress, streak, and achievements locally on your device.
	•	To serve relevant advertisements through Google AdMob.
	•	To improve the app experience based on usage patterns.
3. Data Storage
Your account credentials and game progress are stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage. We do not operate a server that stores your personal data. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
BrainTease IQ uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data including device identifiers (such as Advertising ID on Android, or IDFA on iOS) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
	•	On iOS, we request your permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before any tracking occurs.
	•	If you decline tracking, only non-personalized ads will be shown.
	•	You can reset or limit ad tracking at any time in your device settings.

5. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app:
Profile → Delete Account

Deleting your account permanently removes your name, email, and all associated game data from your device immediately. This action cannot be undone.
6. Children's Privacy
BrainTease IQ is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
7. Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
	•	Google AdMob — advertising
	•	Open Trivia Database (opentdb.com) — supplementary trivia questions (no personal data shared)
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
	•	Access the personal data we hold about you.
	•	Delete your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 5).
	•	Opt out of personalized advertising via your device settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
